A typical timeline for getting married (civil wedding ceremony) can be broken into a few key phases.
Exact steps and timing depends on each couples needs, and religious or cultural traditions, so I’ll outline a general-timeline planning your special day.
Decide on basics: date, budget, guest count, and whether you’ll have a civil ceremony, religious ceremony, or both.
Choose a venues, officiant and photographer book the venue for the wedding ceremony and reception if applicable and make a appointments with celebrant and photographer.
Start on the guest list and save the wedding date and send out the invitations.
Celebrant will talk about your wedding ceremony and will ask lots of questions about the couple getting married and what they want to include in the wedding ceremony.
Next the marriage celebrant will use the couple's answers as a basis for writing the first draught of the wedding ceremony. They also will complete the Notice of Intended Marriage (first piece of pre wedding legal paperwork).
Then the wedding celebrant will write up the first draft of the wedding ceremony and send it to the couple for reviewing. Then the couple will choose their choice of words. The marriage celebrant will then update and send back the revised ceremony script to the couple.
1 or 2 weeks before the wedding date the couple will meet up with the celebrant once again, face to face or over the phone, to have a final reading of the wedding ceremony script and to check all the details of the wedding ceremony.
On your wedding day the marriage celebrant will arrive at the wedding venue to celebrate the marriage.
After the wedding ceremony the marriage celebrant will submit all marriage documents to Births, Deaths, Marriage to register your wedding.
